Saber

The saber (also spelled "sabre") is unique in that it is a slashing weapon, rather than just a stabbing weapon.   A saber does not have an electric button on the tip; any part of the blade touching the opponent's lame or mask will register as a touch. Saber bouts are very quick, and it is often difficult for the director to determine right of way. Saber fencing evloved from cavalry swords on horseback.
