bell - concave piece of metal on a weapon that protects the fencer's fingers

blade - the long metal part of a weapon that extends past the bell. Also used to mean the entire weapon. See "weapon"

body cord - a 3-conductor electrical cable worn in the sleeve that connects the fencer's blade to the reel

epee - one of the fencing weapons, similar in appearance to a foil, but with a larger bell and wider and stiffer blade.

floor cord - a 3-conductor electrical cable that connects the scoring box to the reel

foil - the lightest of the fencing weapons, with the smallest bell and most flexible blade

helmet - incorrect usage of "mask"

mask - protective headgear with interwoven metal wires protecting the face

saber - one of the three fencing blades, featuring a curved knuckleguard and no button on the tip

sword - incorrect usage of "weapon" or "blade"

reel - a spring-loaded coil of wire that connects a fencer to the floor cord

right of way - a set of rules determining which fencer was attacking, and which was defending

scoring box - an electronic device that detects a hit and indicates such by buzzing and illuminating a light on the side of the scoring fencer

weapon - any of the three fencing weapons: epee, foil, or saber.
